Truck Shelters can be the perfect fit for most loading dock applications.
Our Truck Shelters are built to give you full access to the trailer for unloading, or loading of products. Choose from Rigid or Soft Sided Truck Shelters. Rotary Products’ custom built dock shelters allow full access of docked trailers, unlike a compression seal which may take up some space on the sides due to the pads overlapping the truck opening. A truck shelter seals against the outside of a truck at the loading dock and a dock seal compresses against the back of a truck when loading and unloading freight.
A truck shelter might be the perfect solution!
The decision to use a dock shelter vs. a dock seal could be critical in the loading and unloading of a trailer. Some merchandise absolutely needs full access to the truck to be handled with a forklift.
With a dock height of 4’, our traditional SH402 truck shelter will accommodate carriers 12’ to 13’6” high. The SH402 units are also designed to accommodate trailers 8’ wide as well as the newer 8’6” wide trailers. All units are equipped with full length, safety yellow guide stripes for proper alignment of the trailer.
This SH403 truck shelter is an innovation to our original SH402 truck shelter. It has the same outside dimensions as the SH402 but has a larger opening on the face of the shelter to accommodate trucks with larger openings. The original SH402 dock shelter is built to accommodate a wide variety of truck sizes but if, for example, a fleet of trucks is all 8'6" wide and 13'6" tall, the life of the shelters would be greatly extended by increasing the opening size of the face of the shelter. This would create a situation where the materials that seal against the outside and top of the truck could last longer because of less unnecessary wear and tear. Both the SH402 dock shelter and the SH403 dock shelter are available in our traditional rigid construction or our newer soft-sided style.
